In the Books[]

Daggerspell (643)[]

Gerraent is the heir to the Falcon clan in 643. He is troubled by his sister Brangwen's betrothal to Prince Galrion. At Galrion's encouragement, he becomes (reluctantly) betrothed to Ysolla, the sister of his close friend Blaen. Despite this, he kisses Brangwen. Although he is initially wracked with guilt, Brangwen encourages his attentions and they fall into an incestuous relationship. They promise to spend the summer together while mourning their father, delaying both of their marriages until the fall. During this time, they live almost as husband and wife. Eventually, Brangwen becomes pregnant and more distraught. When Blaen discovers their relationship, Gerraent kills Blaen and prompts Blaen's men to kill him in revenge. Gerraent is heartbroken by Blaen's death, sobbing and laying beside his body. This act attaches the Wyrd of Blaen's soul to that of Gerraent's.

Family and relationships[]

Gerraent is the son of Dwen and brother of Brangwen. He is close friends with Blaen, who is his sworn blood brother. He becomes betrothed to Blaen's sister Ysolla, despite having romantic feelings for his sister Brangwen. He enters into an incestuous relationship with Brangwen after their father dies. When Brangwen becomes pregnant and Blaen finds out about it, Gerraent kills Blaen in a murder-suicide.

Personality and appearance[]

Gerraent is arrogant but extremely loyal and caring to his loved ones. He is devoted to his father and to his sister Brangwen, as well as to his blood-sworn friend Blaen. He is tall, blond, and square-shouldered. People close to him call him "Gerro."

Other incarnations[]
