Family and relationshipsEdit
She had four sons: One was stillborn, and her middle son, Aedry, was killed in battle at some undetermined time before 1060. Two sons lived until adulthood. Rhys, her eldest, became gwerbret of Aberwyn upon the death of her husband, Tingyr. They have a good relationship, but it's strained because of Rhys's jealousy of Rhodry and the attention he has long received because of it. Rhys died in late 1061, ostensibly in a hunting accident, but actually at the order of the masters of the dark dweomer, hoping to thrust Aberwyn into war.
Rhodry is her fourth child son, and the fruit of an affair between Lovyan and the elven bard, Devabriel Silverhand. She arranged for Rhodry to be adopted by her own clan so he could be heir to her own rhan of Cannobaen and have a position once Rhys became gwerbret, and helped sustain Rhodry's claim to be the heir to Aberwyn during his exile and after Rhys's death.
