Tanyc is a young warrior in Lord Maroic's dun in Blaeddbyr in 698. Tanyc is a prior incarnation of Cullyn.

In the Books[]

Daggerspell (698)[]

Tanyc comes to Blaeddbyr when he joins Lord Maroic's warband. Cadda, the bard Gweran's serving girl, takes an interest in him. Although she pursues him, he does not reciprocate. Instead, he is enamored with Lyssa, Gweran's wife (in a previous life, Tanyc was Gerraent and Lyssa was Brangwen). Although Nevyn tries to warn Tanyc off Lyssa in order to free them from their entangled Wyrd and to keep Gweran (who was previously Blaen) from killing Tanyc and further entrenching their tragic Wyrd, Tanyc cannot resist Lyssa. Gweran provokes Tanyc by publicly singing a song about men who lust after other men's wives. Tanyc tries to attack Gweran, and is thus sentenced to hanging by Lord Maroic. Nevyn believes that this ties Tanyc and Gweran's souls more tightly together.

Family and relationships[]

Tanyc is enamored with Lyssa, drawn to her because of their Wyrds which were linked in their previous lives as Gerraent and Brangwen. Lyssa gives him no indication that she returns his feelings. The serving girl Cadda is infatuated with him, but it is unrequited.

Personality and appearance[]

Tanyc is a stubborn young warrior. His friends call him "Tanno." Tanyc is "tall, blond, good-looking in a rough sort of way with the narrow blue eyes and high cheekbones of a southern man."

Other incarnations[]

Gerontos, Gerraent, Cinvan, Dannyn, Owaen, Danry, Gwairyc, Cullyn, Gerran
